Dental month!

Chances are, if your pet has bad breath he could be much happier after having his or her teeth cleaned. Tooth and gum disease can be painful. Signs include smelly breath, drooling, rubbing the face or not wanting to eat hard foods.

Dukes altercation with a Brown Snake

One Sunday in January, one of our nurses contacted the surgery because they had found their dogs with a dead brown snake. Duke’s owners noticed some blood in his mouth, but otherwise he seemed happy and well.

Bosco's altercation with another dog

Bosco is an 8 year old male Dachshund who was taken to the Animal Emergency Services one morning, when he was attacked by another dog whilst going out for a walk with his owner.

FIV, or Feline immunodeficiency virus- Have you had the discussion with your cat?

Feline immunodeficiency virus affects the immune system, leaving infected cats susceptible to other infections. The virus is primarily transmitted via bites and scratches from infected cats, and unfortunately there is no cure for FIV.
