The biggest transformation has hit

The biggest transformation has hit

Progress Update: Sixteen

As we draw to the end of week 18 in our build process (which was infact also a short week due to Australia Day) we are amazed at the considerable progress of all our trades. We arrived this morning to gangs of men, utes aplenty and the tools of 17 contractors buzzing around site - each with a task and mission of their own to form part of our overall build.

The (heavy) exterior Pronto Panel cladding is almost fully complete giving the entire building its protective shell.

Taking shape in Pronto Panel

Taking shape in Pronto Panel

Progress Update: Fifteen

Last Friday we all enjoyed seeing the first exterior Pronto Panel cladding fixed into position which was soon followed this week by the very last fixed to the second floor. It's all becoming very exciting now finally seeing the building take its shape and form!

Downstairs the interior and ceiling has also been sheeted in what our labourer Braiden calls itchy insulation, giving you a real sense of the size and space. Upstairs has also seen the walls insulated with plasterers booked to commence onsite today.

Windows, Paper Wrap & Pronto Panelling

Windows, Paper Wrap & Pronto Panelling

Progress Update: Fourteen

It's now two weeks into the New Year and things at the jobsite are looking fantastic! After a lull over the Chrissie break (which was to be expected) the premises is bursting at the seems with products ready for install (including Lisa's garage).

It's been a big week of "rough ins" which basically means the main trades (plumbing and electrical) setting up their equipment and laying pipes and cableing in preperation for connection. The carpentry team have also been busy installing the last of the windows (some even double glazed in the reception area to keep our customers cooler), wrapping the exterior in blue paper, insulating the internal walls.

Kicking off the New Year

Kicking off the New Year

Progress Update: Thirteen

Happy New Year from Windaroo Veterinary Surgery and the hobbs building team. We've all had a refreshing Christmas break spent with family and friends and are now back into the thick of our building project.

With many trades working right up until Christmas Eve (thanks to Luke and Nikki for a last minute site clean up) we're havng a few minor delays with suppliers and trades not yet being back online until next week. Neverless, the team was prepared for these possible delays and have kept the carpentry side of works moving nicely with two new additions to the hobbs team (welcome Braiden and Josh).

Santa brings a sleigh of roof tiles

Santa brings a sleigh of roof tiles

Progress Update: Twelve

Another week has passed and progress has been ticking over nicely. Our fascia, guttering and Build Safe safety barriers were installed on Saturday and not soon after work quickly began on laying the black roof tiles. The schedule should see the lower roof also fully complete by Christmas next week.

We've also seen the very last of core filling the retaining walls (phew) with water proofing and backfilling with soil currently in opertion today and tomorrow. Concreters have also promised the remaining slab around the pool to be complete before Santa drops down our chimney next Thursday night.
