Bundy presented to us with a few "hotspots" around his head and ears. He seemed sad and not his usual happy self.
We clipped the areas free from hair, to prevent further spread and infection. Clipping the area can be very difficult to do because the wounds can be painful so most animals will put up a fight. But Bundy remained calm and brave through it all. We then cleansed the wounds with a chlorhexidine solution.
Bundy stayed with us in the clinic for a period of approximately 2 weeks, so we could get on top of these nasty wounds as they spread fast. During this time, Bundy had his wounds cleansed 2-3 times per day, cream applied, as well as having medication on top of that.
He also had to wear an Elizabethan collar to stop him from scratching at the wounds. As you can imagine, this is alot to go through. Bundy always allowed us to do what we had to do, because he knew that we were helping him.
Bundy was definately very brave throughout the whole of his treatment, never complaining/whining or having any tantrums. He just wanted to please. This makes our job so much more pleasureable and rewarding!
Bundy has a wonderful nature, his character is easy going and he loves to be with people. We were happy to see him return home but also very sad as Bundy became a part of Windaroo Vet Surgery. Bundy had made himself a home in the reception area at our feet and on top of them! His mum and dad have told us that he is doing fantastic!
